Most of the time, no.
To help lenders get you accurate rates and verify your identity, we do send lenders your social security number. Most applicants, however, will not need to directly enter their social security numbers. Instead, we partner with a leading credit verification service that finds your social security number. This is something you agree to as a part of our Terms of Service.
If we cannot get this additional information, then we’ll ask you for it.
We process and store your information using industry-leading encryption. We never share your social security number with anyone but the lenders, and we delete it from our database after 30 days.
